English is great! Especially when nobody is speaking it. Neither the locals nor your travelling buddies. This leads to (surprisingly) effective non-verbal dissolved situations like how to tell the waiter that your main dish is missing. Well, here is how to:
(explained by deaf-mute native speaker Ivan)
Ivan: "Sorry?"
Waiter: comes to our table, says nothing though.
-silence-
Ivan: "Jetzt sagt doch mal einer was"
Me: "There's beef in my mouth, I simply can't" (delivering this non-verbal - somehow)
Damian: just looks, does nothing
So Ivan takes action: "food!"
Waiter: "Ahhh, your meal is missing!"
Ivan: "Yes"
Well guys, that's how we roll!
